Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Darjeeling

Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport/ New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, meet our representative awaiting just outside the arrival hall, past the customs area & currency shops. Later commence your drive to Darjeeling and on arrival check in at a hotel where our representative will brief you about tour starting day after. En-route set on a journey to the soulful environs of Mirik Lake via Nepal Border; a popular tourist destination, Mirik is nestled in picturesque hills of Darjeeling and is known for its soothing climate and natural splendor. Enjoy relaxed time in the lap of nature before you reach your hotel in Darjeeling.
Welcome to the graceful environs of Darjeeling; once the summer capital of India, Darjeeling is a land blessed with eternal beauty and charm. Indulge in the aroma therapy of its tea gardens where the fresh fragrance of new tea leaves will rejuvenate and creates an impeccable memory of your North-East India tour. A walk around the town will introduce you to the fabulous environs and the cultural buoyancy of the people living in it.

Day 2: Darjeeling

Commence a full day local sightseeing covering Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Garden (Closed on Thursday) to see the endangered species of Red Panda, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday) to learn some basic skills required for mountaineering and Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center (Closed on Sunday). Next, on the sightseeing tour visit Ropeway from where you can enjoy beautiful vistas of the hills and the valleys of Darjeeling. Tenzing and Gombu Rock are ideal for rock climbers and visit to beauteous Tea Estates are quintessential of all Darjeeling tours. Lebong Race Course , Japanese Temple – Peace Pagoda, Lal kothi, Dhirdham Temple, Ava Art Gallery, Natural History Museum (Sunday Closed) will be all the other highlights of your day’s sightseeing tour in the region. After an eventful day return to your hotel in Darjeeling for overnight stay.

Day 3: Darjeeling- Gangtok

Early morning start for Tiger Hill to watch the spectacular sunrise from the peak and to enjoy the almost surreal sight of golden rays of sun bring alive the mighty peak of Mt. Kanchendzonga (Worlds 3rd highest peak). On your way back to the hotel you will be taken for a quick sightseeing tour to Ghoom Monastery and Batashia Loop War Memorial. At Ghoom Monastery bow to the 15 feet high statue of Lord Buddha and further move towards Batisia Loop War Memorial over a hilltop. Next start the journey to Gangtok and on arrival in Gangtok check-in a hotel in the city.

Day 4: Gangtok

Located in Shivalik Hills of eastern Himalayan range, Gangtok enjoys delightful mild temperate climate year round. A popular Buddhist pilgrimage site and a land embellished with nature’s bounty, Gangtok is an idyllic holiday destination.
In the city tour first visit Dro-dul Chorten Stupa; built in 1954 the stupa is studded with 108 Mani Lhakor (prayer wheels). Next visit Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday) and Institute of Handicrafts and handlooms (Closed on Sunday) to get some insight into the cultural existence at Gangtok. While in the vicinity a visit to Rumtek Monastery to view a fabulous golden statue of Buddha inside. Other highlights of the tour will be Orchid Monastery, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok & Tashi View Point. Finally conclude the tour with a visit to Dharma Chakra Centre (24Kms/45Mins), the sect of the Kagyu order – one of the 4 major Tibetan Buddhist Sect.

Day 5: Gangtok

On the fifth day of your tour to North-East India depart for the sightseeing full day tour of beauteous Thshangu Lake & Baba Mander. For overnight stay return to your hotel in Gangtok in the evening.

Day 6: Gangtok- Departure

On the last day of your Jewels of North-East India tour you will be escorted to Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for your onwards journey.
