Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 : Delhi/Kolkata – Guwahati

On arrival in Guwahati, you will be assisted and transfered to the hotel. Later in the afternoon, visit the famous Kamakhaya Temple and Navagraha Temple. In the evening, you can take a boat ride in India’s largest river, the Brahmaputra. Also pay a visit to Srimantha Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Assam’s biggest art complex. O/N stay at the hotel.

DAY 2: Guwahati – Shillong

In the morning, undertake a 100-kms road journey to Shillong. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Reserve a visit to the Rock Gardens for the evening. O/N hotel stay.

DAY 3: Shillong-Cherapunjee-Mawsynram-Shillong

From Shillong, a full day excursion to Cherapunjee and Mawsynram. The former has a number of amazing limestone caves some of which are yet unexplored. And, the latter is the place that receives the world’s heaviest rainfall. Later drive back to Shillong hotel for O/N stay.

DAY 4: Shillong-Jaintia Hills-Shillong

From Shillong, drive to Jowai and then take a full day excursion to the Jaintia tribal villages in Jaintia Hills. Here, you can see tribal life from close quarters. Drive back to Shillong for O/N hotel stay.

DAY 5 – Shillong – Kaziranga

Today, drive to Kaziranga and transfer to the hotel. Later visit to the Kaziranga National Park. Here you can see a variety of animals and birds amidst boundless natural beauty. Return to the hotel for O/N stay.

DAY 6 – Kaziranga

Today, visit Kaziranga National Park, as there might be lot of things left unexplored. Take an elephant safari inside the park. Also try the jeep safari. Return to hotel for O/N stay.

DAY 7 – Kaziranga – Jorhat – Majuli Island

This morning, drive to Jorhat. From Nemati Ghat in Jorhat, take a steamer for Majuli Island. This is the biggest island in the world and has been declared as a National Heritage Site. You can stay at the Circuit House in the island for the night.

DAY 8 – Majuli Island

This day is meant for fun at the Majuli Island. Visit the Xatras of Vaishnava culture. There are quite a few Mishing travel villages here. The place is picturesque and serene. Strolling on the island is great fun.Return to hotel for O/N stay.

DAY 9 – Majuli Island – Jorhat – Dibrugarh

Next on your itinerary is a drive to Dibrugarh via Jorhat. Hotel check-in followed by O/N stay.

DAY 10 – Dibrugarh

This morning, drive to Rukmini Island. This beach island is located in Vidarbha, a mythological place in the midst of River Brahmaputra, and around 11 kms from Dibrugarh. Rukmini has amazing sand beaches, crystal blue waters, and hordes of migratory birds. The sunrise and sunset look splendid from here, as do the majestic Himalayan ranges. Return to Dibrugarh for O/N stay.

DAY 11: Dibrugarh-Kolkata/Delhi-Onward Destination

From Dibrugarh, transfer to the airport that has connecting flights to Delhi or Kolkata.
